University of Glasgow
Mathematics and Natural Philosophy Honours Class of 1963

50th Anniversary Reunion

John G. Findlay (Jack)

Following graduation I decided to go into teaching and spent six years
at the chalk face-first at Bearsden Academy then as principal teacher at
Campbeltown Grammar School - before moving into educational administration
in Perth and Kinross.

Marriage to Elizabeth in 1965 and the swift arrival of Ewan then Anna then Lindsay
over the next few years kept me rather busier than the intricacies of local government.

I then moved to a similar post in Fife bringing up the family in Lundin Links then Elie
before the final move to work with Highland Council in Inverness with responsibilities
for schools from Fort William to Wick.

Hill walking, sailing and curling and more recently enjoying five lovely grandchildren
have kept me busy..scattered as they have been in Scotland, England and Indonesia.
